Welcome back to Team Elise's weekly newsletter! We send a weekly note to
Elise's supporters to update you on what she's working on in Washington and
across NY-21!


Here are a few top Team Elise updates and stories we have been tracking for
the past week!


Elise’s SOTU Guest: NY-21 Border Patrol Agent Budlong


Last Friday, Elise announced that Brandon Budlong, a border patrol agent and
president of the National Border Patrol Council 2724, the local union
represents the border patrol agents in the Buffalo sector of the Northern
Border which includes Jefferson County in NY-21, would accompany her at
President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address on Thursday.


Each year, members of Congress bring a guest to Washington D.C. to attend the
annual address to Congress known as the State of the Union. The guests of the
elected officials typically highlight a national or district issue.


This year, Elise highlighted the issue of border security. Agent Budlong
called the invitation an “honor,” and said Stefanik is a “fierce advocate” for
border patrol agents and constituents like himself.

Elise’s Response to Joe Biden’s Disastrous Final State of the Union Address


On Thursday, Joe Biden delivered an ineffective and extremely partisan State
of the Union address. Biden is a failed president with a failed record, and the
White House wanted to use this speech to reset his campaign, but every American
could see right through his temper tantrum. Elise stated –


“Joe Biden is a deteriorating president and under his failed Far Left
leadership the State of the Union is in crisis. His desperate attempt at a
reset dismisses the everyday struggles of Americans suffering because of his
failed policies. Under just three years of Joe Biden, our nation has
experienced one crisis after another from the Biden Border Crisis which has
devastated American communities, to weakness on the world stage, and the
highest inflation in my lifetime. Because of Joe Biden’s radical agenda, we
have faced violent crime in our communities, sky high energy prices, and the
weaponization of our Government against us with the Biden DOJ targeting
Catholics, gun owners, conservatives, and even parents at school board meetings.

“It is time to return to the America First policies that gave us a secure
border, energy independence, peace through strength, and a roaring economy that
created 7 million new jobs and allowed our communities to flourish.”


BREAKING: CORRUPT CUOMO SUBPOENAED


On Tuesday, the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic announced a
subpoena of former NY Governor Andrew Cuomo over his disastrous handling of
COVID. Elise stated –


“Promises made. Promises kept. The day of reckoning has finally arrived for
disgraced Former Governor Andrew Cuomo as he must answer for his disastrous and
criminal COVID policies and cover-up. His corruption needlessly cost the lives
of over 15,000 vulnerable New York seniors in nursing homes across the state.
House Republicans will continue to fight on behalf of grieving families to
deliver much-needed and overdue accountability. Cuomo must comply with the
subpoena or prepare to face further legal consequences for his criminal
cover-up.”

PASSED: Elise Votes to Pass the Laken Riley Act


On Thursday, Elise voted to pass bipartisan legislation aimed at requiring
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to detain illegal immigrants who are
charged with theft or burglary following the tragic death of American college
student Laken Riley at the hands of an illegal immigrant. Elise stated –


“Due to Joe Biden’s reckless open border policies, Laken Riley will never be
able to complete her nursing degree, become a front line healthcare worker in
her community, or celebrate her incredible achievements and life with her loved
ones. Laken Riley’s life was robbed because Democrats refused to end the
invasion of illegal immigrants via our Northern and Southern Borders. House
Republicans have delivered for the American people by passing strong
legislation to prevent another tragedy like what happened to Laken Riley from
occurring. It’s past time Joe Biden and Democrats acted to secure our borders
and put Americans’ safety and prosperity first.”


Elise Joins Donald Trump Jr. on Triggered


On Monday, Elise joined Donald Trump Jr. on his show Triggered to discuss the
latest Supreme Court ruling on President Trump’s eligibility to run for
President. She said:


“The Supreme Court UNANIMOUSLY overruled the Far Left’s unconstitutional
attempts to suppress the will of the American people by attempting to remove
President Trump from the ballot.”

Elise on Fox & Friends – “We Need To Come Together And Unite”


On Wednesday, Elise joined FOX & Friends to discuss the historic results of
Super Tuesday and how the Republican Party is united around President Trump to
defeat Joe Biden in November.

Elise on Biden’s Secret Migrant Flights – an ‘assault on democracy’ and ABUSE
of taxpayer dollars


On Wednesday, Elise bashed Biden for his assault on democracy and the abuse of
taxpayer dollars following revelations of a program last year that used
taxpayer funds to fly 320,000 undocumented immigrants directly from foreign
countries to U.S. airports. She said onX:


“Not only is Joe Biden ignoring his border crisis, he’s facilitating it with
taxpayer dollars. This is an assault on our national security and American
safety”

Elise Eyes Crackdown on Colleges’ Federal Dollars Following Antisemitic
Incidents on Campuses


Last Friday, Elise announced she is looking at ways to leverage government
funding for colleges and universities to ensure they crack down on antisemitic
incidents on campus.


“Number one, U.S. taxpayer funding for these institutions — U.S. taxpayers do
not want to prop up this moral rot of antisemitism, and we have to make sure
that that is not the case,” Stefanik said. “Foreign funding as well, there is
not full transparency in terms of foreign funding and strings that are attached
to that foreign funding. This is a major issue on these college campuses.”

SCOTUS VICTORY: Unanimous Ruling Against Far Left


On Monday, the United States Supreme Court stood for democracy and ruled that
President Trump is eligible to appear on state ballots. Elise released a
statement following the ruling onX:


"Today's unanimous 9-0 Supreme Court decision is a victory for the American
people, the Constitution, and our Republic. As I have said since the start,
extreme Democrats will shred the Constitution in order to prevent the American
people from exercising their constitutional right to vote for President Donald
Trump. This dangerous attempt by the radical Left to suppress votes was
fundamentally unAmerican and why I was proud to sign on to the amicus brief to
the Supreme Court. We the people decide elections, not unelected radical
leftists.”

BIG GOP WINS ON SUPER TUESDAY: President Trump’s Resounding Win and
Elise-Endorsed Candidates Move to General Elections


President Trump has set multiple historic records this primary cycle, making
it the LEAST competitive presidential primary in modern history. He has secured
1,061 pledged delegates so far and is expected to hit the 1,215 needed to
secure the nomination on March 19th. The voters have spoken, and they’ve spoken
loud and proud – President Trump is their nominee to defeat Joe Biden and the
Far Left in November. Elise stated:


“President Trump has earned unprecedented support throughout the Republican
primaries and caucuses including overwhelming victories on Super Tuesday. The
American people have resoundingly made our decision and Donald J. Trump is the
Republican nominee. I'm proud to be the first member of Congress to have
endorsed his re-election, and I’m honored to continue to serve as a top
surrogate supporting his historic campaign to save America. It's long overdue
for Nikki Haley to drop out of the race and endorse President Trump so that we
can focus all our efforts on defeating Joe Biden, expanding our House majority,
taking back the Senate to save America."



On another high note, Elise-endorsed candidates swept their respective
Republican Primary elections in North Carolina, Texas, and California on Super
Tuesday. Here are the results:




* NC State House Speaker Tim Moore claimed a major victory in North
Carolina’s 14th District, earning 75% of the vote in this R+11 district. Even
with the General Election in November, we know that Tim will be the next
Congressman to represent NC-14 when the 119th Congress convenes next year.
* Former Congresswoman for TX-34, Mayra Flores cruised to victory in the
Republican Primary on Tuesday night earning 81% of the vote. Mayra will face
off with Far Left Democrat Vincente Gonzalez in a rematch this November.
* In California, former California Assemblyman and 2022 GOP nominee Scott
Baugh won CA-47’s Republican Primary, he will face a Democrat opponent in
November to flip this open seat from Democrat to Republican. Mayor Kevin
Lincoln of Stockton, CA won the CA-09 Republican Primary. He will face Far Left
Democrat Josh Harder in November with an opportunity to flip this D+5 seat.




Elise Endorses Orlando Sonza for OH-01


On Monday, Elise was proud to announce her endorsement of Orlando Sonza for
Ohio’s 1st Congressional District. As the only Republican in the race, Orlando
is the Republican nominee to face off against Democrat incumbent Greg Landsman
in November.
