Hey John,
National Women and Girls HIV & AIDS Awareness Day has finally arrived! If you haven't scheduled posts already, then use this Social Media Toolkit for inspiration today.
As we hope you know by now, CommuniTEA is our program focused on centering Black women and girls in HIV prevention, treatment, destigmatization, and decriminalization. So today we want to highlight the essential role Black women play in this movement, and also change the narrative to talk more about the reasons that motivate Black women and girls to address their sexual health (as opposed to the risk of this or that).
That's why we want you to use #RiskToReasons in your posts! When social media followers hear about motivating reasons Black women have to address their sexual health, you never know who may decide to get tested, start a conversation, or take action to destigmatize and decriminalize HIV. That's our hope for this week and day, supported by ViiV Healthcare's Positive Action Risk to Reasons Initiative.
We're also a partner in the CDC's #StopHIVTogether initiative and encourage you to use that hashtag as well. Finally, be sure to follow our Instagram page where we will be posting about our 10 youth activists that will be working on the CommuniTEA project throughout today.
Thank you so much for joining us this past week, and enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
In solidarity,
Char'Lee Marie King
