After we close the books on this month's FEC fundraising deadline and file our report, everyone — the media, our opponents, and the super PACs funding them — will focus on one number: how much money we've raised.
It's a shame, but it's true.
How much we raise is important, sure. But there'll be another number in our report that Ilhan cares about even more: the number of people who chipped in to make up that amount.
You see, a lot of Ilhan's colleagues have no problem calling up a very small number of very wealthy donors and asking for $3,300 max-out checks, or slyly mentioning to the media how much super PAC funding they'll need to be successful.
It's pretty easy to post some impressive numbers when you fund a campaign like that.
Well, we think it's a hell of a lot more impressive when thousands and thousands of working people chipping in $19.27 at a time — our average this month — are able to outraise the billionaires and take them on.
That's the fight we're in. It's kind of incredible, isn't it?
It's why our job between now and the March 31 deadline is to generate as many individual contributions as we possibly can — because every single one of them sends an undeniable message about this campaign's grassroots power.
What do you say? Can Ilhan count on you to make your first contribution — of $3, $19.27, or any amount — to our movement today?

When this deadline ends, we have a number of very important budget decisions to make for the months ahead. Thanks for showing Ilhan once again that she has a grassroots army behind her that'll help make those decisions easier.
In solidarity,
Team Ilhan
