Republicans Need a Plan to Win in 2024 and We Need it Now. Part 1

At last, Nikki Haley and many of her Democrat donors have finally declared Donald Trump the people’s choice. I predict the Republican National Committee (RNC), now in new hands, will move swiftly to make it official declaring Trump the party’s 2024 presumptive nominee.

To be clear:  I will vote for Donald Trump in November and will do my part between now and then to make sure he wins.  However, there is an inconvenient truth we must come to terms with.  That is, many who will vote for Trump will do so simply to avoid continuing the horror of the Biden years, but this strategy of being better than the other guy is simply not enough – the elections of 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2023 is our proof.

In 2016 many of us voted for Mr. Trump with enthusiasm, perhaps even guarded enthusiasm in some cases. But it’s no longer 2016 and we’re no longer the same people from 2020. In 2024, in voting for Trump, we must be prepared to hold his feet to the fire along with those responsible for devising a campaign plan that will win the Presidential and down-ballot races.  Anything less, is foolishness.  We have all lived through too much over these three-plus years under Democrat rule to tolerate MAGA bluster, alone. Substance is mandatory.

Apathy among our Republican base and frustrated Democrat voters is real and becoming unbridgeable. The Republican Party, specifically Conservatives, must get serious about what is in front of us or else we are on the brink of losing our country.  Contrary to the constant blustering we hear from many of our political leaders, I worry we don’t have a well-formed and unified strategy to win the upcoming elections. I’m concerned that a lackluster Mitch McConnell combined with an RNC on the verge of bankruptcy, along with almost nonexistent leadership at the state level like in Pennsylvania will once again fumble our opportunity to win.

The reality is that the one who wins get to make the rules – or at least in the case of when Democrats win.  They seem to know exactly what to do when they’re in power.  I do not believe it’s hyperbole to say that our nation will take a decisive pivot depending upon who wins in November. We will either continue this galop into communism and the reckless abandonment of the Constitution, order, justice, and freedom; or we will not.  The past three years are proof of Democrat’s determination to “fundamentally change” this country for the worse.  We are not all fellow Americans taking different paths to the same end-goal.  Democrats have a completely different end-goal in mind and if their past behavior is indicative of what they will do in the future if they should win, it could mean the end of America.

We must get serious as we consider the consequences of another four years of a Democrat in the White House.  I believe we have time to get it together.  And we must. And we must start now….
