| Dear John,
I trust this message finds you well. As VP of Government Affairs here at Americans for Prosperity, I'm reaching out for your help.
We need to address a pressing issue with our immediate attention: the economic crisis gripping our nation under the helm of President Biden's leadership.
In the past four years, we've witnessed a troubling phenomenon—an economic runaway train hurtling down a treacherous track. This train, fueled by reckless spending, has careened our national debt past a staggering $34 trillion mark. With each passing moment, the burden on American households mounts, with the federal debt representing over $258,000 of debt per household—an unsustainable weight that threatens the very fabric of our economy.
But the perils of this runaway train extend far beyond the realm of figures and statistics. Families across the nation feel the tremors as it thunders forward, their purchasing power dwindling under the weight of soaring prices. Inflation, reaching its highest levels in four decades, is like a relentless force, squeezing the budgets of hardworking Americans. The average household now grapples with an additional financial strain of $11,400 per year, just to maintain the quality of life they enjoyed when Biden took office.
Make no mistake — this runaway train, proudly named "Bidenomics" by its engineer, has led us down the wrong track — not expanded the American Dream.
While President Biden may tout the virtues of this economy, for those grappling with the everyday realities of rising costs, it's a nightmare.
It's time for accountability. Every lawmaker complicit in setting this runaway train in motion must answer to their constituents. They must reckon with the consequences of their decisions, and explain why they greenlit policies that will end in a crash.
We must halt the reckless spending spree that will derail our economy and instead prioritize the needs of hardworking Americans once more.
At AFP, we stand firm in our commitment to holding our leaders accountable, to advocating for policies that serve the interests of all Americans.
That’s why we launched television and digital ads across the country, called “Runaway Train.”
