Dear John,

I hope you and your family are staying healthy and safe.

Your outpouring of support this past week has helped us provide much needed supplies to families in need, deliver food to our most vulnerable neighbors, and stay connected to those who rely on our services to keep them safe and healthy. Thank you.

As this public health crisis continues to unfold around us, each day we are seeing needs mounting as neighbors lose their jobs, food begins to run out, prescription medications run low as resources dwindle, and concern for loved ones grows.

Amidst these increasing challenges, thanks to your support we have so much to be thankful for:

  • Thank you to our 40 new volunteers who pitched in to help distribute food to families in need, and to our community partners who continue to deliver food to our family shelter.
  • Thank you to all who are giving so generously to support our ongoing operations, sending in gift cards, diapers, and donations for our Emergency Assistance Program so that we can help people meet their unexpected financial challenges. Already almost 150 people have applied for assistance, and it is just the first week. Particularly hard hit are those who work in restaurants, hotels, and for ride-hailing companies — services that are so vital to our metro area in normal times and that are now at a standstill.

Thank you for keeping up to date on developments with NVFS as we respond to this crisis, and for your continued support. Your commitment fuels our ability to serve our community.

Here is the latest update on how you can safely help your neighbors. Please consider a donation today to continue support of our neighbors in need.

Take care of yourself and those close to you. We are going to get through this together.

With gratitude,

President and CEO Stephanie Berkowitz

P.S. Did you know we received 84,000 diapers this week to distribute to families in crisis? Check out the photos on Facebook. Sharing updates like this with your network is a great way to let people know the need that exists and how they can help. Thank you!
