Today is International Women’s Day! Empower 2X the Special Olympics athletes

Today Only: Match My Gift >> [link removed]

Happy International Women’s Day!

Today is an AWESOME moment to be on Team Special Olympics for two big reasons:

1. We’re cheering on and standing strong with the millions of extraordinary women athletes with intellectual disabilities (ID) around the world who are part of Special Olympics. Each and every one of these women is courageous, is unique, and inspires MORE women and girls – of all abilities and backgrounds – to get in the game and play their hearts out!

2. Thanks to our incredible friends at Aerie, we’re activating a ONE DAY ONLY 2X match to help 2X more athletes, including women and girls with ID, challenge stereotypes and pursue excellence in sports and their communities. Donate to double your impact now >>

Today I’m thinking of so many stories of Special Olympics women who have moved the needle and inspired not just me, but countless others. Women like the trailblazing, 24-strong delegation from Saudi Arabia who made history when they became the FIRST-EVER female athletes from Saudi Arabia to compete at a Special Olympics World Games!

Are you ready for the best part? These barrier-breaking women athletes, including both women with and without ID competing side-by-side, WON THE GOLD in the basketball competition!! 🥇🥇🥇

Team Saudi Arabia: Special Olympics is “able to give the girls something to live for, to be a part of…to be proud of.”

Double My Impact >> [link removed]

Part of the magic of Special Olympics is that an athlete or a team can come from anywhere. And that they can accomplish anything.

Our Special Olympics family is a welcoming and joyful presence in STATE(your community) and countries all over the world – and that can make a huge difference for women athletes in particular who face added discrimination and isolation. Because no stereotype, no barrier, and no glass ceiling can stop a Special Olympics woman!

Until midnight tonight, our valued partner Aerie will 2X MATCH every donation in honor of International Women’s Day! Help train and support more women athletes with ID – make your most generous 2X matched gift now!
