In New Mexico, advocates and legislators have worked hard since the U.S. Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade to strengthen the state’s already sweeping protections for many forms of reproductive care. But in rural Otero County, the only hospital has come under the control of a Catholic health care company, bringing with it limits or bans on a number of reproductive services, including birth control, sterilization, abortion and gender-affirming care.

What happens to care in rural communities when religious-based health care comes to town? This week on Reveal, ([link removed]) we dig into the ramifications of the hospital merger in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Then, we travel with a Florida abortion provider as she opens a new clinic in Virginia to try to stay ahead of the next push to limit access.

For years, The Philadelphia Inquirer has dug into allegations of misconduct against a star police detective: Philip Nordo, known in the Philadelphia Police Department for putting in long hours and getting results. Nordo had a hand in convicting more than 100 people investigated by the homicide unit.

Now, as he sits in prison and decades of his investigations face scrutiny, 15 of those convictions have been overturned.

We partnered with The Philadelphia Inquirer to find out how Nordo got away with abuse and coercion of suspects for so long.
