Hello John
There are several things causing child poverty to rise in the UK: from the high cost of living and inadequate wages, to an insufficient social security system. For several years, the government has been reforming benefits. The changes are numerous and complex, and we’re monitoring the effects they’re having on families so that we can push for improvements.
Our Early Warning System collects cases from across the country – to get a full picture of what changes to the social security system mean in practice for families. If you’d like to know more about what we’re finding out, you can sign up to hear about our Early Warning System:
We’d also love to hear from advisers about any impact they’re seeing from social security reform – if you can help, please get in touch.
Together, we can shine a light on the problems, and push for change that will better support families across the country.
Thank you for your support.
Best wishes,
Lizzie
