I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –

Keeping Trump on the Ballot

On Monday, the Supreme Court rightly decided to protect the rights of voters by denying Colorado’s attempt to remove Donald Trump from the ballot in a clear attempt to interfere in the 2024 elections.

A free America requires competing candidates to win at the ballot box. The Colorado Supreme Court’s attempt to strip away the right of citizens to vote for the candidate of their choosing is nothing short of a clear act of election interference—just like we see in dictatorial regimes around the world.

The Union Collapsed Under Biden

Before Joe Biden delivered the State of the Union address last night, I demanded answers from him on behalf of every South Carolinian and American.

Let me break down some of the biggest moments of Biden's State of the Union.

First, every life is a gift from God. Joe Biden is on record saying he would veto a national abortion ban—boasting about allowing the murder of innocent babies. Do better Mr. President.

Second, Biden spoke of promoting made in America, but yet he wages war on American energy independence. Making us reliant on China and Russia.

Third, Biden claimed the State of the Union is "strong." No, Mr. President. The State of our Union has collapsed under your watch. Our southern border is being invaded with over 8.7 million illegal border crossings since you took office, we are $34 trillion debt, and the American dream is being destroyed.

Fourth, Biden claimed the way to solve the invasion at our southern border was through the Schumer border bill. The Schumer border bill would not secure the border the way Americans know it needs to be secured—closing the border by building the wall and bringing back remain in Mexico policies.

Remember Laken Riley. She was murdered by an illegal alien who was captured and released. Her death could have been avoided if Biden
had not undone Donald Trump’s immigration policies and if Biden had simply enforced the law.

If fences and walls don’t work, then why are there fences surrounding the Capitol for Biden' State of the Union? Border walls and fences work and must be built at the southern border.

Let me be clear, we sent the Senate a strong, conservative border security bill with HR2. Pass HR2, build the wall, and secure America.

President Biden proved in his address that he is out of touch with the challenges facing Americans and the imminent threats to our national security.

America is $34 trillion in debt, being invaded at the southern border with 8.7 million illegal border crossings since Biden took office, and the average mortgage payment is now at $3,322/mo which is 90% higher than three years ago.

Here’s the bottom line, under Joe Biden it is harder for Americans to put food on the table, gas in their car, and to keep more of their hard-earned money.

Joe Biden’s America means fentanyl flowing freely across our border, Americans like Laken Riley being killed by illegal aliens, the American dream of home ownership being destroyed, national debt skyrocketing, and America sitting on the precipice of an energy crisis due to Biden’s war on energy.

Protecting America from Chinese Espionage

I’m on record telling America that TikTok is nothing short of an espionage tool of the Chinese Communist Party. On Thursday, the Energy & Commerce unanimously passed (50-0) H.R. 7521, the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act.

Because TikTok began a misinformation campaign on Thursday, let me begin by explaining the legislation.

H.R. 7521 requires that Bytedance - the parent company of TikTok - divest, or sell, TikTok within 180 days of the bill passing Congress and being signed by the President.

Bytedance is a puppet of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The Chinese Communist Party uses TikTok to access the personal information of Americans and spy on American journalists.

TikTok is a risk to America’s national security and is nothing short of an espionage tool of the Chinese Communist Party.

TikTok execs have told us that the CCP has “supreme access” to data. Further, Bytedance has used the app to spy on American journalists and our military members.

It’s simple, no foreign adversary should control any application in America.

Second, let me share the impact of TikTok on America's children.

Yesterday, my office received hundreds of calls, including from young children whose moms and dads didn’t know they were calling their Member of Congress.

When my staff asked how they received the information, these TikTok tykes said they received a push notification from TikTok telling them that “Congress is planning a total ban of Tik Tok.”

Again, nothing more than a misinformation campaign from the CCP that uses America's children as pawns to interfere in our democratic republic for the sole purpose of keeping their espionage tools active to spy on citizens and our military.

Yesterday, Majority Leader Scalise announced H.R. 7521, the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, would be on the Floor of the House for a vote.

I look forward to voting in favor of this bill on the Floor to protect American national security!

Atomic Energy Advancement Act

The Atomic Energy Advancement Act brings the NRC into the 21st century and ensures America is ready for the coming nuclear renaissance. It’s the framework for true energy independence. I urge the Senate to pass HR6544 and let's get this bipartisan bill to the President's desk.

Voting NO on Schumer's Omnibus

In 2023, the House was worked through regular order to deliver appropriations bills that would drastically cut our federal budget as America is $34 trillion in debt, but now we are forced to look at a horrible omnibus from Chuck Schumer.

I’ve voted NO on 20+ continuing resolutions, omnibus, and minibuses in my time in Congress.

On Wednesday, I voted NO on the omnibus from Chuck Schumer and will continue to fight to cut reckless spending and defund Joe Biden’s woke, radical policies.

Conservatives should oppose Schumer’s omnibus because it funds liberals’ woke policies like CRT and DEI. It also allows the DOJ to sue governments for transgender and abortion issues.

Additionally, it is a slap in the face of our Second Amendment rights. It funds gun buyback programs, red flag laws, firearm registries and the “pistol brace” rule from the ATF that made law-abiding citizens felons.

Further, I believe not one tax dollar should be used to kill an innocent baby through an abortion or to pay for transgender surgeries.

The omnibus continues to recklessly spend money liberally and is filled with earmarks for pet projects.

Americans deserve better. They demand massive cuts to Washington’s spending, not business as usual.

That’s why I strongly oppose Schumer’s omnibus. I will not cower before the woke mobs trying to ruin America.

Biden Administration Secretly Flies Illegals Into America

The Biden administration was caught having secretly flown 320k illegals into America to try and bypass reporting how many illegals have crossed the border.

This was accomplished by use of the CPB One App and was discovered during a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.

Americans demand an answer!

Legislative Action

I cosponsored H.R.7476, Rep. Hern’s bill that would protect American citizens from the malicious intents, theft, and invasions of privacy by the People's Republic of China and the Chinese Communist.

In the District

The South Carolina State Legislature took great action to protect the Second Amendment rights of citizens by passing Constitutional Carry. The bill has been signed by the Governor which makes SC the 29th state to enact this type of legislation. Learn more about the new law here.

Josh Turner, country music star and South Carolina native, will headline the Anderson Soiree festival on April 26 at 7:30p on South Main St in Anderson, SC. The Soiree arts festival first began in 1985 and brings many to the Electric City for food, art, and music.

The Office of Military & Veteran Engagement and the Student Veterans Association at Clemson University will host a VA Claims Clinic at the Madren Conference Center at Clemson University on March 11, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event will help veterans with claims or appeals, as well as answer any questions about their benefits.
