John:

Super Supporters like you made your voices heard loud and clear in our State of the Union Forecast Challenge! The word cloud we created from your responses powerfully highlights the issues that matter most—voting rights, reproductive justice, and workers' rights—all of which disproportionately affect women, especially women of color. These concerns underscore the critical need for a robust care infrastructure that uplifts everyone, particularly women.

And guess what? Your voices resonated! The State of the Union address emphasized the importance of investing in care, including affordable childcare, paid family leave, and fair wages for care workers. This is a significant step forward, but the fight isn't over.

As we celebrate International Women's Day today, let’s also hold space to think about the ways we protect and invest in some of the most vulnerable women among us—domestic workers.

Imagine a future where domestic workers receive wages and benefits to ensure they can support themselves and their loved ones. Where access to affordable childcare allows them to care for others without neglecting their own families. A world where smart policies protect domestic workers from exploitation and ensure safe working conditions. And a world where recognition for their labor paves the way for a more just and equitable society.

That’s the world we’re fighting for: one where domestic workers and all women are valued, heard and respected. Together, we can build a world where no one is left behind.

Join this movement and send a letter urging your elected officials to become Care Champions. This simple act tells your representatives that you recognize the importance of care work and demand better pay, benefits, and working conditions for domestic workers.

Dignity, Unity, Power

The majority of domestic workers sit at the center of some of our nation’s most decisive issues because of who they are and what they do: they are women – mostly women of color, immigrants, mothers, and low-wage workers. They are impacted by almost every policy affecting the future of our economy, democracy and country.

Domestic workers can lead us toward a new, inclusive vision for the future for all of us -- and your grassroots support is the fuel that can get us there.
