America Counts: Income Inequality Linked to Social Vulnerability to Disasters [ [link removed] ]

In case you missed it: Nationally, 20.6% of people were found to be highly vulnerable to disasters in 2022. In counties where income inequality was at or above the national average, 23.4% were highly vulnerable.

Nearly 327,000 people in the United States experiencing homelessness lived in shelters, a small proportion (0.1%) of the U.S. population from 2018 to 2022 but higher than from 2013 to 2017, according to ACS data.
