Happy International Women’s Day, folks!
Today, we recognize that a fair world is a better world.
Contrary to what some believe, women’s equality should not be a partisan issue. There’s no room for debate or compromise; no place for baby steps and halfhearted gestures. We need action.
Of course, I can’t write an email about women’s equality without mentioning the elephant in the room: The abysmal state of reproductive healthcare in this country.
Republicans can’t strip women of reproductive rights, force them to choose between raising their children or continuing their career, pay them less, reduce the quality of their medical care, deny them paid family leave, and then claim that they have equal rights in the United States.
Enough is enough.
I’m committed to the fight for fair pay, universal childcare, paid family leave, reproductive rights, and equitable treatment of women in all our institutions. I will continue fighting for the rights of women in every aspect of society. Loudly and proudly, always.
Thanks for being part of this fight, and happy International Women’s Day!
