I’m running for Congress once again because of the support of the women who raised me.
John—I would not have made it to Congress were it not for the women in my life.

I was raised by a single mom who had to work multiple jobs to make ends meet, as our family relied on Section 8 housing and food stamps. When child care was too expensive, I’d often go to work with my grandma to help her clean homes in our Rockland community.

Despite our circumstances, my mom and grandma raised me with the audacity to dream big —and I did. Because of their support, I went on to law school and represented my community in Congress. I’m running once again because of the support of the women who raised me.

I will never stop fighting for a better, more equitable, future for all women. Today, on International Women’s Day, add your name next to mine and join me in the fight.
Whether it’s fighting for equal pay for equal work, paid family leave, universal child care, or protecting the right of women to make their own health care decisions, I carry my mom and grandma—and the sacrifices they made—with me in everything I do. Policy is personal to me.

For countless women, Republican attacks on abortion, IVF, affordable child care, and more are also deeply personal. We cannot allow extreme Republicans—like my opponent Mike Lawler—to continue chipping away at the progress women have made over generations.

They will enact a national abortion ban, restrict access to contraception, slash hard-earned benefits, block access to affordable child care, and more if given the opportunity. We can’t let that happen.

This International Women’s Day, add your name next to mine to commit to fighting back against extremist attacks and creating a world where all women have basic human rights and equal opportunities to thrive.

Happy International Women’s Day,

Mondaire
