PACT Act Update: Be Sure to Apply if Eligible
Starting on March 5th, if a servicemember was exposed to toxins or other hazards while serving at home or abroad, they are eligible to apply for VA healthcare. Congressman Kim voted to pass the PACT Act into law to expand millions of veterans’ healthcare.
This progress is a huge step in delivering on that promise! If you served in Vietnam, the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, or any other combat zone after 9/11, enroll in VA healthcare today at va.gov/PACT.
Commemorating 59 Years since Bloody Sunday
This Thursday, we helped pay tribute to the hundreds brutally attacked 59 years ago at the Edmund Pettus Bridge while peacefully demanding the right to vote. The day is forever now known as “Bloody Sunday.”
Shamefully, we still have not achieved the equality they marched for. In their honor and in honor of the late Congressman John Lewis, a young Foot Soldier in Selma that day, we continue our work to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.
Happy Read Across America Week!
Last Saturday, we helped celebrate Read Across America Day and the importance of reading! We must encourage children and adults alike to support the power of reading and protect people’s rights and access to books across our nation. For the following Read Across America Week, Congressman Kim was happy to be able to join Westampton students again for a virtual reading night!
