([link removed])Dear John,

As we celebrate another International Women's Day, I can't help but feel immense pride and appreciation for the extraordinary women who make our work at UNHCR so meaningful.

Let's start with our own heroes – our incredible female colleagues out in the field. These remarkable women put their hearts and souls into helping refugee families find safety and rebuild their lives. Whether they're distributing lifesaving aid, setting up shelters, or just offering a kind ear to listen, they do it all with such compassion and resilience, even when faced with the toughest conditions imaginable. Their dedication is truly awe-inspiring!

And we couldn't do any of it without you – our generous supporters. Your kindness and belief in our mission fuel our efforts to empower refugee women and create real change. You're the wind beneath our wings, and we're forever grateful.

But most of all, this day is about celebrating the incredible strength and perseverance of refugee women themselves. These brave souls have faced unimaginable hardships, yet they continue to be the pillars holding their families and communities together. Their stories of overcoming adversity with such grace and dignity leave me in humble admiration. They are the true heroes we strive to serve.

So today, let's cheer all the phenomenal women everywhere who inspire us to build a world of equality, opportunity, and boundless possibilities for every girl and woman. With your amazing support, I know we can make that dream a reality.
19-year-old Afghan refugee, Hassan, was incredibly shy when he first came to Portugal. But a new-found love for boxing has helped him to meet others and gradually reveal more and more of his personality. Hassan trains five times a week. Boxing not only helps him stay fit, but it helps him to think ahead, to create goals, and to reach those goals.Lots of love, 💙Monia Hassan
