The Coalition’s STOP THE BLEED® Instructor Licensing Program is designed for Firefighters and other Emergency professionals seeking to teach STOP THE BLEED® to their communities or organizations.
There is no cost for individuals to become licensed and it only takes a few minutes to complete an online application.
Many Firefighters are already engaged in the STOP THE BLEED® campaign, using it to build resilience in their communities. The new program is designed to empower more Firefighters to get involved by making it easier to apply for a license and to support approved instructors with all of the resources they need.

Having served in the healthcare professions, both as a pre-hospital and hospital Healthcare provider and educator for over 40 years and former Special Forces Medic, I have seen first hand how “first on the scene” care can save lives if provide by a trained “Immediate Responder.” I felt a calling to serve my community by empowering individuals to save lives. If we train citizens to provide CPR, why not STOP THE BLEED®? It just made sense.
Training is at the heart of the STOP THE BLEED® campaign and STOP THE BLEED® Instructors are the ones that make the heart beat! The Instructor Spotlight shines a bright light on individuals engaging their communities about STOP THE BLEED®.

Warrior Youth Hockey Association
I want to start a STOP THE BLEED® program for hockey organizations governed by the Texas Area Hockey Association. We recently had a player injured with a skate blade requiring stitches, and most of the programs operating as not-for-profits are ill-equipped to deal with severe lacerations from skate blades. Recently a player died in the UK, and last year a High School athlete in CT died as a result of a severe laceration. I want to bring awareness to the hockey community and equip organizations with training & resources to deal with the potential for serious injury in the sport of ice hockey. These high-profile events have brought attention to the potential for injury or death.

The Coalition is a community of individuals and organizations who are passionate about the STOP THE BLEED® campaign. The Coalition’s goal is to support the growth and impact of the campaign by providing access to information and services to the growing STOP THE BLEED® community as well as financial support to the STOP THE BLEED® Project.
STOP THE BLEED® is a national campaign to encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. It is a public/private partnership led by the Department of Defense and many other stakeholders, including the Stop the Bleed Coalition.
