John,
Maryland's rich history is filled with remarkable women who have blazed trails and shattered glass ceilings. From pioneers in science and technology to leaders in politics and the arts, Maryland women show us that anything is possible when you dream.
As a daughter of immigrants, I have dedicated my life to public service and removing systemic barriers to opportunity. As a mother of three daughters, I want to ensure they have every opportunity to succeed. As Maryland’s Lt. Governor — and the first woman of color to hold this office — I am dedicated to supporting policies that support all women and create a more equitable future.
This month, I want to honor the long legacy of trailblazing women who have paved the path to today. These agents of change inspire us to open more doors for women of all backgrounds and identities, including more women who will dedicate their lives to public service.
Every day is a fight to create a more inclusive democracy, and I’m proud to be a part of that fight and this administration.
Happy Women’s History Month!
With gratitude,
Aruna Miller
