The NDP will be bringing forward a motion in the House of Commons on March 18 that challenges Canada’s values, foreign policy, and support for the people and land of Israel, while rewarding Hamas with recognition and support. Canada should not let anti-Israel radicals change foreign policy.
We simply can’t stand by and risk this motion passing.
If the NDP are successful, it would mean:
- The immediate and unilateral recognition of a Palestinian State by Canada, without any negotiations
- Funding reinstated to UNRWA, ignoring evidence of UNRWA’s role in perpetuating the conflict.
- An arms embargo on Israel – when Canada’s ally is fighting a defensive war against a terrorist organization that has sworn to destroy the Jewish state
This motion will be debated and voted on by all MPs, and they’re currently being swamped by misinformation from anti-Israel activists.
Liberal MPs Anthony Housefather and Marco Mendicino have already committed to voting against the motion. We need more Liberal Members of Parliament to vote against this motion.

Le 18 mars, le NPD présentera à la Chambre des communes une motion qui remeten question les valeurs, la politique étrangère et le soutien du Canada au peuple et à la terre d'Israël, tout enrécompensant le Hamas par sa reconnaissance et son soutien. Le Canada ne doit pas laisser les radicaux anti-israéliens modifier sa politique étrangère.
Nous ne pouvons tout simplement pas rester les bras croisés et risquer que cette motion soit adoptée.
Si le NPD l'emporte, cela signifiera :
- La reconnaissance immédiate et unilatérale d'un État palestinien par le Canada, sans aucune négociation.
- Le rétablissement du financement de l'UNRWA, sans tenir compte des preuves du rôle de l'UNRWA dans la perpétuation du conflit.
- Un embargo sur les armes à destination d'Israël - alors que l'allié du Canada mène une guerre défensive contre une organisation terroriste qui a juré de détruire l'État juif.
Cette motion sera débattue et votée par tous les députés, qui sontactuellementsubmergéspar la désinformation des militants anti-israéliens.
