John, there's no soap.

At some point today, you washed your hands. You changed your clothes, and you likely took a shower -- all of which got you clean, refreshed, and ready to face your day.

John, women and girls across Gaza are facing a lack of basic sanitary necessities, like soap, sanitary pads and clothing. This leaves them at a greater risk of disease, in an already conflict-ridden environment.

And the lack of stable shelter also means that women and girls don't have a safe space to return to. In times of conflict, the lack of privacy and dignity is a trauma on top of the traumas that they're already facing, every single day.

⚠️ Today, on International Women's Day, we are calling attention to the disproportional impact faced by women and girls across Gaza, and those facing crisis around the world. ⚠️

We hope that you'll donate today to support women, girls and their families in Gaza and other crises. >>

The International Rescue Committee is working with partners to deliver food, lifesaving medical aid, direct cash assistance, and support to people enduring catastrophic suffering in Gaza.

And we plan to scale our programming in Gaza as soon as a ceasefire is in place. The IRC will work directly and through partners to provide nutrition; water, sanitation and hygiene; health care; and protection particularly focused on separated children.

John, without you, we wouldn’t be able to do this critical work. The realities that women and girls are facing across Gaza and other crisis zones are horrific -- and you're providing the support we need to work with our partners on the ground, day in and out.

Thank you,
- Emergency Response Team @ the International Rescue Committee
