"âI love the Clifton Library because of how many books there are and how quiet and chill it is.â"

St Ann's Valley LibraryÂ
St anns previous
Our Book Club started with a bang on Saturday 20 January, and our first book for discussion did not disappoint.
From the very first page, it was engaging and for many of us, it drew us into the world of Parisian nannies and the French class system. Major themes included motherhood, childcare, class, race and gender. Unusually, we knew from page one who did it. The question was: why?

Our Next Read
The next meeting is March 16 and next on our list is Sophie Hannah's thriller, 'Did you See Melody?'.Â
The group has already chosen its first four books, but we will include any choices new group members may suggest. Itâs a friendly mix of ages and backgrounds, so it looks like our discussions will be great fun!
Third Saturday of each month, 11am to 12pm.

Wollaton Library
On Monday 4 March, Nottingham City Libraries celebrated the reopening of Wollaton Library after a period of closure for essential maintenance work.Â
During this time, the library service worked closely with Nottingham College lecturers and students. Students studying joinery and painting along with their lecturers offered their time, free of charge, to this project. They have refreshed the interiors by repainting and replacing shelving units using repurposed shelving from the former Central Library, adding a touch of heritage.
It has been fantastic to watch the students grow in confidence and gel together as a team to manage the work and resolve problems experienced as the project grew. Their contribution has been invaluable. Â
