John,
I am writing this email while social distancing and maintaining isolation from others, like I'm sure many of you are. Even from a distance though, I’ve been so proud of the work Rep. Matt Cartwright has been doing during this public health crisis.
If you haven’t heard, Matt has been working to prevent COVID-19 from spreading in prisons. He has also fought to prevent shortages of protective medical equipment and has supported critical legislation that will deliver relief to everyday Americans caught in this crisis and its economic impacts.
Despite all this tireless work, the false attacks from National Republicans just keep coming:
- One of his opponents attacked him for demanding accountability on COVID-19 in the House
- A GOP powerhouse group launched a custom website 100% devoted to spreading lies about Matt on the day President Trump declared a national emergency
- And now The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has ratcheted up their effort to flip the House from blue to red by launching attacks of their own
Clearly, nothing will slow down the GOP’s efforts to flip this seat. And since Matt is busy focused on the issues I’m hoping we can raise the additional $2,784 we need for our Federal Election Commission (FEC) deadline without his help. Will you pitch in to help Matt fight back against these attacks?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation to help Matt fight back against these smears will go through immediately:
John -- We know in this time of great anxiety that many of our grassroots supporters can’t donate right now. That’s okay, we understand. But the dark money and cheap attacks from the GOP aren’t stopping, and so we have to reach out and at least ask if you’d be willing to pitch in $10 or $15 to help us respond.
Either way, all of us at Team Cartwright are standing beside you and wishing you the best.
Yours,
Evan
