Election Victory in NC-14, While TX-12 Race Appears

to be Headed to a May Runoff

Arlington, VA – The GOPAC Election Fund is pleased to announce the
substantial victory of NC House Speaker Tim Moore in NC-14. Meanwhile, TX
State Representative Craig Goldman's race for TX-12 appears to be headed
for a runoff election on May 28, 2024.

Chairman David Avella congratulated N.C. House Speaker Tim Moore, stating,
“Congratulations to Tim Moore (NC-14) for his hard-worn victory tonight.
Tim has proven himself to be an exceptional state legislator, embodying the
values of a governing conservative with a track record of tangible
results.” Chairman Avella said, “That’s why GOPAC proudly endorsed his
campaign.”

Avella continued, emphasizing the success of GOPAC’s Mission Majority
project in investing significantly in Moore’s race and showcasing the
program’s ability to engage in primaries effectively, securing victories
for state legislators who aspire to bring their conservative governing
principles to Congress. "I eagerly anticipate Tim's arrival in Washington
come January and am excited to witness him deliver for his constituents,"

North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore's nomination marks big change in
state's congressional delegation

North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore won the Republican nomination for
Congress in the state's 14th District on Tuesday, starting what was
expected to be a thorough shake-up of the U.S. House delegation.

The 14th is one of three congressional districts expected to flip from
Democrats to Republicans in the November election after the state's
Republican-controlled General Assembly redrew voting maps fashioned by
judges for the 2022 elections.

The new maps seem likely to transform a delegation now comprising seven
Democrats and seven Republicans to one with 10 Republicans and four
Democrats.

Republicans send Goldman, O'Shea to runoff for Granger's congressional seat

The impeachment of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton will likely take
center stage in the runoff to decide who will be the Republican nominee for
the 12th Congressional District.

Republicans Craig Goldman and John O'Shea were the top vote-getters in the
March 5 GOP primary, according to unofficial election results. Neither was
able to get 50% of the vote, forcing a May 28 runoff.

The district covers west Tarrant County and most of Parker County. This
election marks the first open race for the seat since U.S. Rep. Kay
Granger, R-Fort Worth, was initially elected in 1996. Granger is retiring
after nearly three decades of service in Congress.

Goldman, a Fort Worth Republican in the Texas House, received 44.3% of the
vote to O'Shea's 24.6%. So far, 97.62% of votes have been counted,
according to the Associated Press.

The Biden campaign has an uphill climb to convince voters that inflation
has significantly improved. Year-over-year inflation has moderated from its
peak in 2022 but remains over 3%, with the cumulative rate of inflation
since the President took office being close to 18%. The White House - and
many in the media - continue to be frustrated that voters don't buy their
arguments that inflation is significantly better. Despite what is coming
from financial news and government sources, voters have their own method of
determining how inflation is doing.

In the latest survey for Winning the Issues (February 24-25), we asked
voters which mattered more in determining how inflation is doing. Only 13%
of the electorate said they determine the state of inflation by the
Consumer Price Index, official government statistics, and economic news,
while the overwhelming majority - 82% - said they base their determination
on the price of items they regularly buy, such as groceries or gas.
