Michael Maher closes in on Costa in the Central Valley. The Navy and Law Enforcement Veteran Shows CA-21 Congressional is a Leading Flip Target in California.
Fresno - While the votes are still being counted, the early returns show that CA-21 could be one of the most competitive potential GOP pick-ups in California.
Navy and Law Enforcement Veteran Michael Maher has a narrow gap between him and Democrat incumbent Jim Costa, despite the Democrat registration advantage.
"The time has come for a new, dynamic leader to emerge—one who champions the aspirations of every individual in our region, not just the privileged few favored by Jim Costa. Our Primary Election results have exceeded all expectations, igniting a spark of excitement that will blaze a trail straight through to November," said Michael Maher.
Born and raised in California, Michael Maher is a Navy Veteran who enlisted after graduating from Tulare High School in 2001. Maher attended the U.S. Navy's Nuclear Power School, serving aboard the USS Salt Lake City SSN-716, a Los Angeles Class Fast Attack Submarine. He's a graduate of Fresno Pacific University and the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Maher is married and has two children. His wife Anne comes from a multigenerational farming family in California’s central valley. Michael currently owns and operates a Central Valley based aviation business.
