We are dedicated to uplifting the stories of individuals who are personally affected by the harmful policies being implemented in Texas. During a recent press conference held outside the Federal Courthouse, ahead of the hearing to halt the implementation of unconstitutional Senate Bill 4, a member of Mujeres Luchadoras bravely stepped up to the podium. She spoke out against the harm she and others like her face if SB 4 is allowed to be implemented, and why we as a community must work together for a future with dignity and respect for all.

As Grassroots Leadership, we are committed to our vision of making mass incarceration, deportation, and criminalization things of the past. That is why we must put an end to Operation Lone Star (OLS) once and for all. We understand OLS not only affects immigrant communities—it affects us all. That is why are conducting popular education teach-ins to provide information to members who have been directly impacted by the criminal justice and immigration systems, broaden the conversation surrounding OLS, and ultimately put an end to this deadly program.
We recognize that there is still much work to be done to transform the criminal justice and immigration systems, not just in Central Texas, but also across the South and beyond. That's why we're committed to building power within directly impacted communities through our base-building groups, such as Texas Advocates for Justice, ICE Out of Austin, and Mujeres Luchadoras. We sincerely believe that by working together, we can work towards collective liberation.

Como Grassroots Leadership, estamos comprometidos con nuestra visión de convertir la encarcelación masiva, la deportación y la criminalización en cosas del pasado.
