International Women’s Day: March 8

From 2000 to 2022, the percentage of women who work as veterinarians, pharmacists, mathematicians, legislators, and chief executives have all increased.

96th Oscars/Academy Awards: March 10 

The 2021 Annual Business Survey reported 25,755 employer firms in motion picture and sound recording industries, 229,763 employees, and a $19.1 billion annual payroll.

Sunshine Week: March 10-16

Freedom of Information Day: March 16

President Johnson signed into law the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act on July 4, 1966. The American Society of News Editors launched Sunshine Week in 2005.

Equal Pay Day: March 12

In 1973, full-time working women earned a median of 56.6 cents to every dollar men earned. In 2022 (49 years later), women earned 84.0, a gain of 27.4 cents.

Pi Day: March 14

The first 6 digits of pi (π) are 3.14159, which means it's a good time to celebrate on March 14 (3/14) at 1:59 (am/pm). Pi is infinitely long, a never-ending number.

National Potato Chip Day: March 14

The U.S. exported $230.6 million of potato chips (“prepared or presrvd, not frozen") in 2023. The top importing countries were Canada, Mexico, the UAE and Philippines.
