Team,
On Friday, the House passed a $2 trillion bill that will help stimulate our economy and provide relief to the millions of Americans whose lives have been disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.
The president has signed the bill, but our work isn't nearly over.
As I continue to confront the ongoing threats we face with my colleagues in Congress, it's crucial that we all do our part as individuals to keep our communities safe.
Please take a moment to read the message below to find out more about how to stay healthy, help your neighbors through this crisis, and find resources in your community.
Thank you for doing your part and staying safe. We're glad to have you on our team.
Andy

Subject: Updates on COVID-19
Team,
Day by day, the circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic and the response of state, local, and federal governments are changing rapidly.
We have a few updates to share, but the fundamental ways we can keep ourselves healthy haven't changed, so we want to share them first:
- Stay at home as much as possible (especially if you're sick).
- Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly for at least 20 seconds at a time.
- Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Because staying home is so crucial, New Jersey and other states have recently issued stay-at-home and shelter-in-place orders, directing residents to stay home until further notice, with a few exceptions for:
- Obtaining essential goods and services,
- Seeking medical attention,
- Visiting family or close friends,
- Reporting to work,
- And engaging in outdoor activities.
We can only slow the spread of COVID-19 if we take our individual responsibility seriously. This can be difficult for many, but it is essential.
Last week, Andy learned he had come into contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 and immediately self-quarantined. Though Andy ultimately tested negative, self-quarantining at home before receiving his results helped ensure he would not spread the disease to others.
Even as Andy worked remotely, he and his colleagues continued to work across the aisle to pass relief bills to help working families and boost our economy. Yesterday, the Senate passed a new bill that will soon come before the House for a vote.
As Andy continues to work toward finding solutions during this crisis, it's important to remember that help is available now.
- If you've lost your job, recently become sick, or had your hours cut because your workplace is closed, you may be eligible for benefits. New Jersey residents can learn more about who is eligible for unemployment benefits here

- If you run a business, state agencies can help answer questions and connect you with resources. New Jersey business owners can learn more about how the state government can help at Business.NJ.gov.

- If you have other questions or need support, the United Way is partnering with local and state officials to provide help for people who dial 211 or visit 211.org.

- And if you think you're experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 as described by the CDC, contact a medical professional. In a non-emergency situation, call your doctor or dial 211. If you or a loved one is experiencing more severe symptoms, including
trouble breathing, call 911. Calling first is an important way to help medical professionals prevent exposure to other patients.

Even if you're under a stay-at-home order, there are important ways for you to help your community, especially if you're healthy and in a low-risk group:
- If you are able, donate blood. Blood banks are safe and sterile, and hospitals desperately need blood now.
- Donate to organizations that are working to help your neighbors who may be struggling in a time of social distancing. New Jersey residents can find a list here.

- Volunteer to help at organizations in your community, like local food banks, that are currently struggling to fill volunteer shifts. New Jersey residents can find places that need help now by reading this article.

Though we are in the midst of a crisis, we can pull through together. Andy and our team will continue to fight for working families, and we hope you'll do your part as well.
Thank you, and stay well,
Team Kim
