I've known Ed Markey for 18 years. In 2014, I went to Massachusetts to campaign with him and his wife, Susan. I watched Bay Staters listen and learn when he spoke about the planet running a fever. He educated them about the health-damaging and economic effects of global warming, and he made it clear that the climate crisis is also the moral issue of our time.
Last year, Ed partnered with Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to co-author the Green New Deal -- a resolution that would set in motion a 10-year mobilization to reach a green economy and save our planet.
