President
Biden will deliver his final State of the Union address in his first term
tonight. There are a number of issues I’m hoping he’ll speak to, but
before the President’s speech [ [link removed] ]I’d also like to know: which issues
you’re hoping he’ll prioritize tonight? Please click here to share your
thoughts—your feedback is important to me.

My guest for tonight — Priscilla Higuera Valentine — is an educator,
first-generation American, and Boston Teachers Union (BTU) representative
for her school in Boston, who had over $117,000 in student loan debt
canceled through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. This is
thanks to our efforts organizing alongside labor organizations like the
BTU, this team of grassroots supporters, and the Biden-Harris
administration.

I look forward to uplifting Priscilla’s story, honoring the educators of
the Massachusetts 7th Congressional District, and underscoring the
transformative impact of student debt cancellation. That’s why we want to
hear President Biden double-down on continuing to deliver student debt
cancellation for as many people as possible, as quickly as possible.

I’m also hoping he speaks plainly about the crises people are facing — at
home and abroad — and calls for an immediate, lasting ceasefire in Gaza to
save lives, return all hostages to their loved ones, and deliver the
humanitarian aid Palestinians in Gaza desperately need.

I’m hoping he prioritizes a plan for investing in our care infrastructure
to create an equitable economy, ensure care workers and early educators
have the resources they need, and restore dignity to care work.

I’m hoping he lays a framework for closing the racial wealth gap to
address generations of systemic racism and break cycles of generational
poverty for Black and brown folks.

I’m hoping he affirms that abortion is a safe, normal, and necessary human
right. And I hope he lays out his plan to not only prevent a federal
abortion ban, but to protect and expand abortion access for everyone who
calls America home.

[ [link removed] ]Those are a few of the issues I’ll be listening for — what about
you? What
are you hoping President Biden prioritizes as we approach the 2024 general
election? I keep the issues that this movement wants top of mind, so your
feedback is much appreciated.
