The number one priority during this time is to make sure everyone helps mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Iowa and across the country. Our campaign is doing our part by canceling all in-person events, moving to a digital operation, and supporting local efforts to help those in need. Emails like this are a critical part of our ability to run a strong campaign that can win.

John,

Reflecting on the last several months of our campaign, I never could have anticipated this is what our current situation would look like.

Moving to an all-digital operation wasn’t the plan -- but it was the right thing to do for the health and safety of everyone involved in this campaign and everyone in Iowa’s 4th district.

Truth be told, times are tough for everybody. It’s not easy to ask for financial support for our campaign.

But this upcoming fundraising deadline is important. This is the first time in our election year that we have to post our fundraising numbers publicly, and party committees, opponents, and dark money donors will be looking to see how we do.

Can you help us show everyone that we are a strong campaign and that we have the grassroots momentum we need to defeat Steve King this fall?

J.D. really wanted this campaign to always reflect his values. From his Don’t Forget About Us tour, where he was visiting towns of 1,000 people or less in our district, to virtual events to provide folks with crucial resources about the coronavirus, he’s shown he’ll stand tall for all. No matter where this campaign takes us next, that won’t change.

When we look ahead, we need to think about the type of values our leaders bring to Congress.

During times of crisis, who do we want to be leading us? Who do we want to represent our voices in Congress and to vote on legislation to help us when we’re in need? Who do we want to display our Iowa values in Washington? Certainly not Steve King.

If you want to see new leadership this fall -- leaders like J.D. -- chip into our campaign today.

Thanks so much. Stay safe out there -- practice social distancing, wash your hands often, and check on your friends and neighbors by phone, text, or email.
