The results show that school nurses have the potential to play a key role in addressing chronic absenteeism. NASN President Kate King said, "My primary focus — and a school nurse's primary focus — is that children are in school." The study and article demonstrate the importance of advocating for a more holistic understanding of the school nurse role and the need for a school nurse to be present in every school all day, every day.
