I don’t really consider myself a petty person. I don’t hold grudges, and I believe in working across the aisle to get things done.
But when I tell you that I am never going to forget a single Republican attack on reproductive freedom, I mean it.
I will never forget that Trump appointed three right-wing justices to the Supreme Court who went on to overturn Roe v. Wade and rob millions of Americans of their bodily autonomy.
I will never forget that Republicans in red states across the country have championed the most extreme anti-abortion legislation we’ve ever seen – legislation that largely went into effect as soon as Roe fell.
I will never forget that right-wing justices sitting on state Supreme Court benches upheld these bans and ruled in favor of anti-abortion extremists at every turn.
I will never forget that Trump and his followers have been downright cheerful about this, claiming credit for it all while causing more pregnant people and infants to die unnecessarily.
The past two years have been a painful culmination of a decades-long, coordinated attack that was designed to deny the bodily autonomy of more than half the population. This outcome – all this suffering and death, all the excruciatingly painful and tragic stories we read in the news – is what Republicans have wanted all along.
And they’re not stopping here.
Trump and extreme Republicans – like my MAGA opponent – are gearing up to push a national abortion ban that would affect ALL of us.
This November, I am determined to defeat Donald Trump, my anti-abortion opponent Bill Wells, and every single extreme Republican on the ballot.
