John,
It's time for Congress to stop tiptoeing around the glaring issue at hand: our Supreme Court is broken.
The introduction of the Supreme Court Tenure Establishment and Retirement Modernization (TERM) Act which proposes 18-year term limits for Supreme Court justices, is our chance to reclaim a court that has strayed far from its intended purpose.
The current system of lifetime appointments has allowed the Supreme Court to become a playground for partisan gamesmanship, with justices holding onto their seats for decades, shaping the law to fit their personal and political agendas. This isn't just undemocratic, it's dangerous.
The TERM Act is our opportunity to inject some much-needed accountability into this untouchable branch of government.
Enough is enough. The Supreme Court needs reform, and it needs it now. Send a message to your Congressperson and tell them to co-sponsor the TERM Act now.
Let's face the facts: our highest court is out of touch with the American people. While 49 out of 50 states have embraced term limits, elections, or age limits for their highest courts, the Supreme Court remains stubbornly unchanged.
This is unacceptable. It's no wonder that 7 out of 10 voters are crying out for term limits. They're tired of watching justices wield unchecked power, making decisions that affect millions without any concern for the evolving values and needs of our society.
The legitimacy crisis facing the Supreme Court is a gaping wound in our democracy. A court perceived as biased, unaccountable, and stuck in the past undermines the very principles of justice and equality it's supposed to uphold. The TERM Act is our chance to stop the bleeding, to restore balance, legitimacy, and public trust in the Supreme Court.
It's time to take a stand, to demand change, and to ensure that our Supreme Court serves the people, not the whims of a select few. Tell your Congressperson: Co-Sponsor the TERM Act, and let's fix our broken Supreme Court!
Thank you for working to address the legitimacy crisis facing the Supreme Court.
