We are at a crossroads with technology.

Artificial intelligence is aiding in the genocide of Palestinians. Technology is fueling the militarization of the border while also increasing the power of police. Globally, half the world’s population will experience national elections set to be shaped by mis and disinformation. Those of us fighting against these forces need stronger strategies and relationships to reclaim technology for our people.

Almost 5 years ago, Mijente hosted the first Take Back Tech gathering in San Jose, California as a space to build and strengthen our capacity to fight the ongoing ways in which technology is harmful to our people.

And now it’s time for part two! In partnership with Mijente, we are excited to announce and invite you to join us at Take Back Tech II in Chicago on June 21-23. 

This gathering is open to organizers, advocates, and workers seeking to deepen connections and sharpen our tools to combat tech harms. At Take Back Tech II, you’ll have a chance to hear from key voices in the field of technology, curate your own workshops, and assess this political moment with other community members.
