Immigration Policy Changes Needed to Meet B.C.'s Construction Demand
BIV

As CEO, Neil Moody explained to BIV, it is estimated that there will be 4,500 unfilled jobs in the residential construction industry in B.C. in 2024. These labour shortages may cause a delay in projects and could increase building costs and housing prices.

What the BC Energy Step Code Means for Your Home
BC Housing
BC Housing has produced a new video series highlighting residential construction across the province that meets or exceeds the BC Energy Step Code.
The newest video showcases a new home in Williams Lake First Nation. In the video, Chief Willie Sellars explains how these homes bring hope and stability to the community.
The first video in the series takes a tour of a home in Invermere, where extreme temperature changes and wildfires are all too common.
The goal of the series is to demonstrate the consumer benefits of homes built to higher steps of the BC Energy Step Code. Homes built to the BC Energy Step Code can improve energy efficiency and occupant comfort and reduce negative impacts from extreme temperatures.
