Hi John, New York's First District and communities nationwide are reeling from the devastating impact of the fentanyl epidemic. Lives are being lost, families torn apart – and urgent action is long overdue.
Right now, however, House Republicans like Mike Johnson, Steve Scalise, and my opponent, Nick LaLota, are holding up the passage of the National Security Act, which includes critical funding for programs through the FEND Off Fentanyl Act. This comes directly after they killed a bipartisan agreement on border security. House Republicans claim to want to protect our country, but they REFUSE to act to keep us safe. We deserve better.

There's a lot a president can do and there's also a lot a Member of Congress can do on immigration. But we know LaLota helped to tank this bipartisan immigration reform bill along with the right wing extremists in his party because Trump told them to.
And instead of doing the job he was sent to Congress to do, Nick is spending his time attacking me on social media.
