Hi John,

Did you know that about 95% of smokers start before they're 21? And that every day, more than 2,200 kids begin vaping?

As a pediatric pulmonologist who has seen first-hand the harmful effects of e-cigarettes, this is a tragedy. But for Big Tobacco, it's a success. How else will they replace the 480,000 "customers” who die of tobacco-related deaths every year?

Here’s how they stay in business by hooking children:

1. Hiding the poison in e-cigarettes that taste like candy, fruit and breakfast cereal.
2. Making e-cigarettes with very high amounts of nicotine that look like flash drives or children’s toys.
3. Promoting contests and coupons to keep profits rolling.
They also claim vaping is safe. That’s a lie. Kids as young as 17-year-olds have had to have double lung transplants due to vaping.

Ending the tobacco epidemic starts with ending youth tobacco use.
I’m asking for your support to make it happen.

Here’s the good news. The American Lung Association is fighting on all fronts. About 90% of teens who participate in the Lung Association’s N-O-T: Not On Tobacco program cut back or quit altogether.

And the Lung Association's advocacy plan is working to end the sale of all flavored tobacco products, including e-cigarettes.

With your support, we’ll keep kids tobacco-free. Donate to the Lung Association today.

Sincerely,

Dr. S. Christy Sadreameli
