This is a campaign powered by small-dollar donations and we are almost certain that we will receive considerably more grassroots donations than Susan Collins does during this reporting period.

But there's a chance we'll be outraised. And that's because Susan Collins is relying almost exclusively on big donations from special interests, and our average donation is much smaller than hers.

It's my job to make sure that doesn't happen, so there are two choices: either we generate even more donations, or donations we receive have to be slightly larger.

So, John, if you could make your first online donation -- of even just $3 -- we're going to close the gap, report a great number, and win this race. What do you say?
