GOP gov candidate's absolutely absurd, nonsensical rant about women's suffrage unearthed: "I absolutely want to go back to the America where women couldn't vote"
In a newly unearthed video from 2020, North Carolina’s Hitler-quoting, Holocaust-denying GOP nominee for governor said America was somehow better — i.e. the "Great" in "Make America Great Again" — when women were denied the right to vote because Republicans at that time "fought for real social change." Take all the time you need with that. You see, once upon a time the Republican Party apparently wasn't the grotesque, hate-fueled cult it has devolved into today, and North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson told voters with a straight face that's why he's a Republican — because back then, when women could not vote and Black people were subjected to the horrors of Jim Crow, the GOP was occasionally on the right side of justice, or something. Robinson’s contorted longing for the days when women couldn’t vote fits in neatly with his long record of deeply misogynistic rhetoric, especially on social media, where he's claimed that feminism was created by Satan, said that men who identify as feminists are “about as MANLY as a pair of lace panties”, has routinely referred to feminists as “fem-nazis” and, in one particularly colorful post, described those who support equal rights for women as “sexist, hairy armpit having, poo-poo hat wearing pinkos.” Incredible get-out-the-vote strategy you've got there, Mark.

SCOTUS crosses the line with grossly corrupt act
MoveOn: Trump’s cronies on the Supreme Court have taken it upon themselves to keep the disgraced ex-president on the ballot, nullifying a previous court’s decision to disqualify Trump for his insurrection on January 6, 2021, under the 14th Amendment. Clarence Thomas, whose wife Ginni actively participated in the plot to steal the election, was allowed to rule on the matter. Now the high court has delayed Trump’s immunity trial to the last minute, making it all but certain he won’t be convicted before November. Justice Thomas and Trump’s appointees are abusing their power to tilt the scales for the serially indicted con man, and this HAS to stop. Will you add your name to demand Congress take action against the corruption at SCOTUS?
Speaker Mike Johnson reportedly pleads with GOP clown caucus to behave at tonight's State of the Union address
House Speaker Mike Johnson pleaded with his Republican colleagues during a closed-door conference meeting Wednesday to refrain from any outlandish behavior during President Biden’s Thursday night State of the Union speech, insisting that "decorum is the order of the day." Good luck with that, Mike. Maybe try passing out juice boxes beforehand or encouraging outdoor free play today so your caucus can get the wiggles out before tonight's big gathering?

Mitch McConnell calls idea of term limits for GOP Senate leaders "totally inappropriate"
Having thoroughly worn out his welcome as the Republican Party's leader in the Senate for the past 17 years, the 82-year-old McConnell summarily dismissed the idea being floated by some of his colleagues to cap leadership terms as "totally inappropriate." And if there's one Inside the Beltway Jeopardy category Mitch knows better than all the rest, it's "Totally Inappropriate."

In defiance of all good reason, third-party spoiler group "No Labels" is expected to move forward with a futile 2024 campaign
After months of searching and coming up empty, third-party presidential movement No Labels is still planning to field a presidential candidate in the November election whose sole purpose will be to play the role of spoiler on behalf of Donald Trump, to potential devastating effect. Having already been rejected by the likes of Joe Manchin, Larry Hogan, and — most recently — Nikki Haley, the corporate-funded, high-rolling party poopers remain undeterred and insist they will put a "unity ticket" together in time for November. God help us.
Arizona on the brink of charging people close to Trump over 2020 election
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we know. We've heard this all before. But, as you might've heard, the arc of justice can be quite long, and so the work continues. In the past few weeks, Trump campaign officials have received grand jury subpoenas from Arizona prosecutors as part of a criminal investigation into their wildly illegal efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. These subpoenas could help determine if some of Trump’s biggest allies in the state, including some who were fake electors in December 2020, will face criminal charges. In the meantime, we soldier on.

RFK Jr. offers up preposterous excuse to explain away close ties with Jeffrey Epstein
In a truly remarkable interview on the Flagrant podcast released on Wednesday, the anti-vax whack job freely admitted that Jeffrey Epstein was hardly the only notorious character he hung out with. “I'm in New York for most of my life. You run into everybody in New York,” Kennedy said. “I mean, I knew Harvey Weinstein. I knew Roger Ailes. I knew, OJ Simpson came to my house. Bill Cosby came to my house.” Yeah, that's not gonna land like you think it will, Robert, but you do you.
Former GOP congressional candidate and pro wrestler arrested in Vegas murder of man who was wrongly imprisoned for cold-case killing
Ex-Republican congressional candidate Daniel Rodimer, who unsuccessfully challenged Democratic Rep. Susie Lee for Nevada's 3rd district in 2020, has been arrested for the murder of Chris Tapp. A newly unearthed text message from Rodimer's wife said "I watched you nearly murder somebody and I had to take your [expletive] hands off from his neck as he laid there and you ran away and I spent the next two hours trying to take care of him. Nobody should have to watch their husband murder somebody," which, uh, pretty much clears THAT case up. You will not be surprised to learn that Trump endorsed Rodimer, declaring that he would be "an incredible Congressman." Folks, the GOP is NOT sending their best.
