The Office Manager will support Women Winning by fulfilling responsibilities pertaining to basic accounting, office administration and organizational correspondence. The Great Start Affordability Act: A Move to Help Minnesotans Pay Childcare Bills

Lawmakers are pressing to make childcare more affordable for middle-income families, proposing a scholarship program that would be open to almost 90% of Minnesota households. While the state spends hundreds of millions of dollars each year subsidizing the cost of childcare for lower-income families, many parents earn just a little too much to qualify for childcare assistance, early learning preschool scholarships and Head Start. Rep. Kotyza-Witthuhn’s Great Start Affordability Act would lower childcare costs on a sliding scale basis for families earning up to 150% of the state median income.

CVS and Walgreens to Start Selling Abortion Pill Mifepristone This Month

CVS and Walgreens will start selling the abortion pill mifepristone this month at certain pharmacy locations in states where it is legal to do so, spokespeople for the companies told CNBC on Friday. CVS will begin filling prescriptions for the medication in Massachusetts and Rhode Island in the coming weeks, a spokesperson for the company said. They added that CVS will expand to additional states, “where allowed by law, on a rolling basis.”

1st Over the Counter Birth Control Pill Expected to be Available as Early as Month's End

Opill, the first non-prescription birth control pill approved in the United States, is expected to hit store shelves at major retailers and pharmacies nationwide around the end of the month or early April. The oral contraceptive was approved by the Food and Drug Administration for over-the-counter sales last July. Major medical organizations, including the American Medical Association and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, have been pushing for years for an over-the-counter birth control pill. Such options are already in more than 100 other countries, according to Free the Pill, an advocacy group.
