As Keep Britain Tidy celebrates its platinum anniversary in 2024, will you take just five minutes to pledge online to join in and pick a bag of litter?

The Great British Spring Clean [[link removed]] is Keep Britain Tidy's annual mass action environmental campaign.

This year, the public has already pledged to pick up more than 112,000 bags ahead of the campaign launch!

At Keep Britain Tidy we believe the environment belongs to everyone - and it's never too late to start getting involved.

This week we're highlighting the efforts of one of our newest litter-pickers, Stewart Kendrew, 54, from Exeter.

Stewart suffered a brain injury during a car accident when he was 18, leaving him with memory problems that mean he is unable to work. But late last year he decided that he wanted to give back to the community by playing his part in protecting the environment on his doorstep.

He now goes out most days - in all weathers - and estimates that so far he has collected around 40 bags of litter.
