Dear Friend,
To say “Thank you” does not do justice to how grateful I am for all of you who shared your precious time, resources, your living rooms and your votes with me. It means the world to have you in my corner and I don’t think I will be able to really quantify my deep appreciation for you.
These past few days our headquarters saw a constant buzz of activity with staff and volunteers doing their utmost to deliver our message to voters. All the culmination of months of work. Thank you to everyone who showed up and put their heart and soul into this campaign.
While the results are not yet final, and we will be watching closely the tens of thousands of remaining ballots left to be counted, I am afraid that our path forward is difficult. We are currently in third place behind one of our Republican opponents.
However, despite our disappointing finish last night, I am incredibly proud of the clean campaign we ran together.
I am also incredibly proud of the coalition that came together to support our campaign for effective representation, including labor unions and working families, and hundreds of local elected officials, neighborhood leaders, activists, friends and neighbors. Thank you all for your trust and support.
I would be remiss if I also didn’t acknowledge my dear family who have been steadfast at my side through not only this campaign but all previous campaigns. To Ellen, Bella and Sofia - none of this could have been done without you in my corner.
As Los Angeles County elections officials continue to process ballots we will keep you up to date on the latest. But in the meantime, please accept my sincerest thanks.
Anthony
