When I got into this race a year ago, my goal was to make sure the voters of Assembly District 19 understood that I would be a representative in Sacramento who would lead the fight to make our neighborhoods safer, to fully fund our public schools, and to tackle our housing crisis head on. 

The election results send an undeniable message that the voters agree: it’s time to prioritize our safety, our children and our community once again in the State Assembly.

Thank you to every voter and every volunteer who made this result possible – this win isn’t just a win for me and my campaign, but a win for families, for working people and for everyone who shares our vision for the future of California.

I am overjoyed that our campaign has resonated so deeply with the voters, and I am committed to earning every possible vote between now and November in our fight to build a safer California for all.

This is the first election my son Dominic has been eligible to vote in, and it is the honor of my lifetime to be able to demonstrate to him that the people of Assembly District 19 believe in me and in our campaign. I will never stop fighting for a safer California, for my kids and for yours.
