Together, we've been making so much progress on gun safety in state
legislatures—so this is infuriating:

Amidst our nation's gun violence crisis, MAGA extremists are not only
trying to block new stronger gun laws—they're actively dismantling the
good gun laws we already have in place.

Right now, gun-lobby backed members of the Florida state legislature are
trying to undo a law passed after the tragic 2018 school shooting in
Parkland.

In the months after the shooting, Florida lawmakers passed the Marjory
Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act, which raised the minimum
age to buy guns to 21, and it closed the deadly "Charleston Loophole" that
allows firearm purchases to proceed after three days even if a background
check is not completed. If these radical lawmakers are successful, these
life-saving protections will be dismantled—and some high school seniors in
Florida could buy assault weapons.

Meanwhile, lawmakers in other states are doubling down on extreme gun
policies to advance the gun lobby's "guns everywhere" agenda.

JUST THIS WEEK:

⚠️ The Kentucky Senate just voted to allow guns in schools.

⚠️ Wyoming lawmakers revived a bill that would push guns into government
meeting spaces, schools, universities, and sporting events, while
punishing anyone who refuses to allow guns in those places.

⚠️ Louisiana just became the 28th state to allow permitless carry: The new
law effectively rolls back Louisiana's foundational gun safety policy that
requires Louisianans to receive training and obtain a permit to carry a
concealed firearm in public.

Here's the good news: We've still got allies who are ready to fight for
gun safety in state legislatures across the country, and we're still
making progress.

Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action volunteers show up
year-round to demand action at school board meetings, statehouses, and
U.S. Congress. They're organizing and educating in their communities and
college campuses, and advocating for stronger gun laws that can save
lives. Many of our volunteers have even run for elected office—and won.

But our volunteers can't do it all alone. Taking on the gun lobby means we
need all the resources we can get, and your donation today can help us
build a stronger movement tomorrow.
