Hi John —

Yesterday, more than a dozen states held primaries or caucuses, making it the biggest day of the nominating races so far in the 2024 presidential campaign. As we watched state after state report their results, we knew for certain this election will define the future of our movement.

In November, there will be a rematch between Donald Trump and Joe Biden with just as much, if not more, at stake. And just like in 2020, youth will be the difference makers.

If we’re going to win, we’ve got a lot of work to do.

The MFOL team is already working to mobilize young voters in key battleground states like Michigan and Arizona where the margin of victory could come down to fewer than 10,000 young voters.

That means building coalitions of thousands of young people, sharing our vision for an end to gun violence, and empowering them to use their vote to make a change.

Here’s why we do the work: If we elect gun safety champions up and down the ballot, we can shape the future for the better.

Check out some of our policy demands:

*Address firearm access and regulation and implement violence intervention and prevention policies: We need to raise the bar for responsible gun ownership and purchasing in America while also holding the gun industry accountable for its role in fueling violence.
*Create safe and healthy communities by reimagining public safety, addressing social and economic inequities and eliminating state-sanctioned violence: We want to take a proactive, sustainable, and long-term approach to ending gun violence in our country, and therefore, we must address the root causes of this epidemic.
*Build a democracy for all: We need to uphold a functioning and just democracy. This includes removing barriers to civic participation for young people, ensuring that our courts reflect the democratic process and ideals our country was founded on, and electing candidates who are gun violence prevention champions.

Last night’s election results make it clear that our work is more critical than ever, but we can’t do it alone. Will you donate now to help us build a winning coalition of young voters in key battleground states?
