Dear Friend, |
|
The massive train wreck in East Palestine Ohio last year was, and
remains, an environmental disaster of epic proportions. |
|
4,800 American citizens were evacuated from their homes during an
EPA conducted “controlled burn” of 20 or so railroad cars that
contained toxic materials. |
|
Many of those residents reported headaches and rashes after the
derailment. But as more time passes, several appear to be developing
cancer, many more are forced to import bottled drinking water. |
|
And to date, no one in the Biden
Administration has paid more than lip service about it. |
|
Bottom line: the people living in East Palestine had their lives
turned upside down—their homes, their neighborhoods, their entire way
of life. |
|
This is the kind of national emergency that should bring together
the nation to help. This is a situation that should break down
barriers between Republicans, Democrats and Independents. |
|
This is about how we take care of our own—how we solve problems
and meet real needs. |
|
Yet for most residents, they feel
abandoned…completely forgotten. |
|
RFK Jr. had the opportunity to meet many of the people living in
East Palestine, and so many hard-working middle-class families
expressed frustration at what they say is a lack of answers from the
railroad company and the government whose job it is to protect
them. |
|
The people living in East Palestine had their lives shattered, and
to date they have not recovered. … And then they read that the CEO
of the railroad just received a $3.6 million raise. |
|
|
|
As your President, RFK Jr. will make it his top priority to take
better care of each other, and reform government institutions that are
failing to do that year in and year out. |
|
That’s one reason why Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is running for
President: to hold officials in government accountable, to rebuild
trust and transparency in the institutions that are supposed to assist
and protect us during tragedies like East Palestine. |
|
RFK Jr.’s experience and his
commitment to the families in crisis will not stop
when he becomes President. |
|
RFK Jr.’s experience and his
commitment to taking on corporations and government entities
that ignore the law and fail to do their jobs will not stop when he
becomes President. |
|
And
with your commitment to put him on the ballot, there is no stopping
him from becoming our next President. |
