Right now, Arizona’s border communities need solutions to deal with the escalating number of migrants overwhelming border personnel. They don’t need another photo op with Republican members of Congress.

We need leadership who will set aside the politics and focus on getting us the resources we need.
The bipartisan border deal isn’t perfect, but it would make a huge difference. It would help fund temporary migrant shelters, speed up the processing of asylum claims, and keep our ports of entry open. It includes $1.4 billion dollars to prevent unsheltered street releases by supporting centers like Casa Alitas in Tucson.
Donald Trump rejected the deal — so, of course, Ciscomani and his GOP cronies followed suit.
Ciscomani has chosen division and fear-mongering over progress. In Congress, I’ll always put the interests of my constituents first.
