Friend,
Being a meteorologist has always been about protecting our neighbors and our communities. That means trusting the science of climate change -- something that Big Oil has spent decades trying to sow division over.
Now it’s threatening our local economies, like right here in IL-17 where 10,000 United Auto Workers call home.
It’s always something with Big Oil that keeps our businesses behind.
First, there was the “there’s no problem” argument.
Then came the “science isn’t settled” argument.
Next, we got the “we aren’t ready to change” argument.
Now we are onto the “solution is happening too quickly” argument.
But while we waste time fighting over their lies:
* ExxonMobil took in $36,010,000,000 in 2023.
* Chevron found $21,369,000,000 they didn’t have.
* TotalEnergies raked in $21,384,000,000.
* Shell deposited $19,360,000,000.
* And BP recorded a $15,230,000,000 profit.
Big Oil loves that we argue about solving the climate crisis. It means they can keep the profits coming in while the rest of us pay the price.
I’m not afraid of holding Big Oil and special interests accountable. They can try to buy this seat and whoever they can to keep profiting unchecked. But as long as I’m representing you I’m going to keep sticking to the science. For the benefit of our local industries and our safety.
Will you help keep a trusted friend of our local economies and climate communicator in Congress by chipping in whatever you can today? As a top GOP target, any amount will go a long way in such a close race. [[link removed]]
