JOhn,
Elizabeth, 52, helps to lead a mushroom livelihood program, working alongside other mothers to grow mushrooms and use the harvest to make mushroom chips. They package and sell the chips to visitors and nearby schools, dividing the income amongst themselves to support their families. “In this past two months, [we have earned] approximately 20 or 18,000 pesos,” Elizabeth said.
By donating in celebration of International Women’s Day you can not only further the work Elizabeth is doing in the Philippines, but empower more mothers like her to earn livelihoods to support their families for years to come.
