Howdy John, it’s Shad.
Yesterday, voters in Colorado and states across this country made their voices heard and overwhelmingly voted for President Joe Biden.
Here’s what we know: It’s clear that Donald Trump and Joe Biden will be our respective presidential nominees.
On the Republican side: They’ve put up a guy with 91 felony counts who takes credit every chance he gets for overturning Roe v. Wade. He left our economy in tatters after mismanaging the hell out of a global pandemic and is running a campaign built entirely on division, fear, and aggression.
What would he do as president? Lucky for us. We don’t have to guess since he’s already told us what he wants to do.
He’d gut our civil services and our public agencies and fill them with MAGA loyalists. He’d abandon the NATO alliance our grandparents set up to ensure security after World War II. He’d impose new protectionist tariffs and deport millions of immigrants, which would push up inflation and bring an end to our booming economy.
And he would put a nationwide abortion ban in place. We already know he and his cronies are itching to.
It makes me sick just writing about it.
Good news is that, on our side, we have President Joe Biden, who pulled this country from the brink during a global pandemic and has delivered some major accomplishments that haters said were impossible.
The American Rescue Plan saved our economy, supported our businesses and strengthened the jobs market. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill is bringing our nation’s vital infrastructure into the 21st century, investing heavily in our roads and bridges, and creating good-paying jobs across the country. The CHIPS Act is bringing back American manufacturing and growing the semiconductor industry right here in Colorado. The Inflation Reduction Act is the most significant investment in tackling the climate crisis in our nation's history.
Right here in Colorado, President Biden has created thousands of jobs, kept Space Command in Colorado Springs, and designated Camp Hale a national monument to commemorate the soldiers and veterans of the 10th Mountain Division.
President Biden has passed the first bill addressing gun safety in nearly two decades. He’s canceling billions in student debt and is strengthening our global alliances. We would've even gotten something done on immigration if it wasn’t for Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans sabotaging a bipartisan solution for the border.
We know that there’s a lot of work left to be done. We need to continue to make sure our economy delivers for working families, not just the well-off. We’ve got to permanently expand the Child Tax Credit. We need to finally fix our broken immigration system and make sure our border is secure. And, we’ve got to protect our fundamental right to choose and safeguard our democracy.
Coloradans are ready to re-elect President Joe Biden, keep our Senate majority, and win back the House so we can finish the job we started.
The road to victory will run through Colorado. Democrats can’t take Colorado’s ten electoral college votes for granted, and with so many competitive Congressional races, the House majority could very well be decided in our state.
It’s time for Democrats to unite as a party and work to ensure Trump and his MAGA Republicans don’t take us backward – AGAIN. Contribute whatever you can today to help us win this November and continue moving our country forward >> [[link removed]]
